Here’s a few of mine that you might be interested in: Full moon party in Thailand, Scuba with whale sharks, Angkor Wat, Snorkel Jellyfish Lake in Palau, Machu Picchu

Those are some great ideas! I’ve heard the Full Moon Party is a little “rape-y”, but I may add it. Snorkeling Jellyfish Lake and Scuba diving with whale sharks sound fun. I’m not a huge history person, but Angkor Wat and Machu Picchu are pretty.

Great list! And thank you for adding the Gateway Arch (St. Louis, Mo.) to the list. As a Missouri native, I often find myself defending life in the Midwest. Although I have traveled extensively and lived by the sea and in the mountains, Missouri has many bucket-list opportunities – such as canoeing the Missouri River (think Lewis & Clark!), hiking the Ozarks, the Arch, and, of course, St. Louis Cardinals baseball games in Busch Stadium. Oh yeah, we also have scuba-diving, skydiving, and plenty of tornadoes!!! By the way, Nanjing, China is a sister city to St. Louis.

I’m glad you liked my bucket list item! I often find myself defending Maryland in the same way. We have the Chesapeake Bay for fishing, crabbing, sailing, and water sports. We have Ocean City, a beach on the east coast with a long, wooden boardwalk. We have the Appalachian Mountain range for hiking and climbing with waterfalls, lakes, and other beautiful landmarks. We have a football stadium for the Ravens and a baseball field for the Orioles. (We also have Washington DC touching Maryland.) Call me crazy, but I would like to see a tornado live. I didn’t know that about Nanjing and St. Louis. What exactly does that mean?

You’ve been to so many states! I’d like to visit all 50 as well but I think I’ve only been to 10? 12? I better get on it!

Heather January 3, 2013 at 11:55 pm

I’ve visited most of the states, but I’m still really anxious to see Alaska, Hawaii, and Colorado. It seems like no matter how much you see, there’s still more to see!

I may have you beat on states, but you have me beat on countries. Let’s make a plan: you try to visit all of the states that I’ve visited and I’ll try to visit all of the countries you’ve visited. Winner gets…*insert useless prize here*.

We should have taken the elevator to the top of the needle! I never saw the pictures from your visit. Did you post them? I’m glad things are going so well.

I wanted to, but there wasn’t a lot of time to do anything because I was flying that afternoon. I’m sure I’ll make it there again. I haven’t posted those pictures yet. I’ll try to upload some before I head off to SE Asia next week.

Good luck with it :)

Aww, thank you! You definitely should write your own bucket list. It’s fun writing it, even if you don’t end up doing half of the things on the list.

Great bucket list. Visiting 42 states is quite an accomplishment. I love eating Chicago pizza. What would be the underlying values beneath these goals you are looking to accomplish?

Thank you! To sum it up: I want to learn more about the world and figure out who I am as a person.
